The School of Dentistry Library keeps current textbooks and board preparation materials on reserve.

• Reserve books are for library use only.
• Reserve materials are limited to SOD students only.
• You must have your UTHealth Houston ID badge with you.

Course Textbooks

You may send an article request directly from Primo (click Primo link or use the search box above), or from the special SOD Library PubMed link, also found at the top of the Primo search page.

This service is for current School of Dentistry students and faculty/staff only.

NOTE: Due to time constraints, this service is NOT available for Clinical Applications course assignments.

THSLC

The School of Dentistry Library is a member of the Texas Health Sciences Library Consortium (THSLC).  SOD staff and students may borrow print materials from the following THSLC member libraries:

• Texas Medical Center Library
• University of Texas School of Public Health Library
• University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Research Medical Library
• University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston Moody Medical Library

All you need is your UTHealth Houston ID badge and drivers license. 

TexShare

The School of Dentistry Library also participates in the TexShare program, a collaboration of libraries across the state of Texas to share resources.

Lending libraries typically require your UTHealth Houston ID, driver's license, and a valid TexShare Card.

• SOD users may request a TexShare card at the Library Information desk. Call (713-486-4094) for more information.
• Check the list of participating TexShare libraries across Texas.

The  Library has six collaborative rooms available,  equipped with whiteboards and monitors. These rooms are meant for study groups of 2-6 people, and may be reserved for up to 4 hours at a time. 

• You may reserve a room up to 5 class days in advance.
• Groups rooms are for SOD student use only.

Reserve a group study room

Color Xerox Printer/Photocopier is located in the Student Workroom inside the Library.

• Make all formatting decisions (color or B&W, one-sided or two-sided, etc) BEFORE you send the print job
• Use credit/debit card or Apple/Google Pay at the Xerox kiosk to release your job.
• For help setting up your laptop to print to the Library Printer, please stop by the Library Information Desk.

A flatbed scanner is available for student use on computer LRC1.

SOD students may ask for help SENDING faxes. Faxes may NOT be patient related.
